Pitlochry Festival Theatre
The internationally renowned Pitlochry Festival Theatre is beautifully sited on the banks of the River Tummel. Uniquely, the programme is rotated on a weekly basis, allowing visitors to see different plays on consecutive nights. The season runs from May to October.

Activities in Pitlochry

One of the attractions of the Pitlochry area is the wide range of activities available to visitors. From sporting activities to pub entertainment and theatre ... Pitlochry has it all.
The wildlife of the area is diverse and can often be glimpsed by chance. Both Glengoulandie Deer Park and the Loch of the Lowes Visitor Centre, famous for its osprey, offer the opportunity to witness the wildlife a little closer.

In the evenings, after a day's sightseeing or walking, the area's wide choice of hotels, restaurants and pubs vie for your attention. Whether you are looking for fine food, a lively ceilidh, folk music, or simply peace and quiet in which to relax over a dram, you will find it here.

GOLF
Scotland's golfing heritage is, of course, incomparable and Perthshire is as richly endowed as many other areas. Local golf courses are available at Pitlochry and Blair Atholl, but many more can be found only a little farther afield, including some truly world class ones. Rosemount, Gleneagles, Carnoustie and the Old Course in St Andrews certainly fall into this category, and even the most distant of those is only around an hour away by car. But these are just the best among some very fine courses. St Andrews, for example, boasts six courses within the town and several others within the surrounding area.
